Charles W Gay

Dr. Gay is Associate Vice President for University Extension and Associate Director of Cooperative Extension at Utah State University. He has been a member of USU’s Extension faculty since 1983, and is recognized nationally and internationally for developing and managing rangelands and other natural resources. Dr. Gay began his Extension career in 1964 at New Mexico State University as their first Range Management Specialist. He has experience in both the public and private sectors. Dr. Gay has served as consultant to the livestock industries of more than 30 countries, and was general manager of the Agriculture Division of Collier Cobb and Associates. He and family operate a sheep ranch in Utah. Dr. Gay has been heavily involved in professional and community associations. He is a member of the Society for Range Management, the Society of American Foresters, the Soil and Water Conservation Society, Sigma Xi, and the New York Academy of Sciences. He is past president of the Association of Extension Natural Resource Professionals and was the JCEP liaison to the ECOP Budget and Legislative Committee. He served as Assistant Dean of the College of Natural Resources at USU for 12 years.

Dr. Gay serves on the WRDC BoD in the absence of the board’s chairwoman.
