Dr. Harris has been on the faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno since 1981. He has conducted numerous studies in rural Nevada estimating impacts from changes in public land policies, surface water reallocation, and economic growth. He has also developed methodologies to estimate population thresholds necessary for selected commercial sector development, as well as fiscal impact models. Dr. Harris is Director of the University Center for Economic Development at the University of Nevada, Reno, which is funded by the U. S. Economic Development Administration. He received his B.B.A. in economics and finance from the University of Texas at Arlington, his Master’s degree in agricultural economics from Texas Tech University, and his doctorate in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University.
